The Academy of Real Assets
The Academy of Real Assets is a philanthropic membership group made up of some of the UK’s leading Real Estate, Real Assets, and global Investment firms. We are an entrepreneurial team focused on maximising the social impact our members have by pooling efforts and resources through The Academy, to help our members deliver the “S” in their ESG strategy. To have a meaningful social impact takes a long-term approach and scale, that is what we offer our members. Our aim is to widen net that Real Estate and Real Assets recruits from and promote social mobility and diversity by engaging with, and offering connections to, very large numbers of UK students. To that end, we are in contact, with the help of our Partners, with around 3,000 of the UK’s most under-served schools. We have a number of different programmes all aimed at increasing accessibility to the Real Estate and Real Assets world. These include our regular virtual “Coffee Conversation“ with students and our National Short Essay Competition offering students the opportunity to get published in their own book, with more to come. Founded in 2010 as an institutional fixed income broker, Shard Capital has evolved into an organisation with over 80 professionals. It focuses on providing core custody and dealing services, with linked investment management and broking offerings.
